Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American screen and stage actress, best well-known for her films on the film Ray Undercover Brother and on the television series The Mentalist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies from Brown University and an MFA in acting from the Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue is an American actress, producer and director who works in television and film. Her acting journey began as a theater actress and then appeared in numerous TV shows and independent as well as mainstream movies. The actress gained fame as Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico and was a part of the epic BET series The Book of Negroes for that she was not only rewarded with high praise but also a number of nominations and awards including a Television Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Film. In 1995 she made her acting debut in The Tempest as Ariel. On Broadway she was a part of the cast on stage in Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Seeking the Genesis and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. When it comes to film, she is best known for her roles in films like Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. In the world of television, her character in ABC's police drama High Incident is well known.
