Awkwafina
Awkwafina started out as a American musician and rapper making sly songs that addressed issues such as racial and sexual identities with a funny twist. Prior to her move into Hollywood her career, she was able to perform a variety of tracks. The actress was born Nora Lum to Chinese and Korean immigrants within Forest Hills Queens her first experience with music came through the trumpet. Following her Jazz and classical training, she delved into hip-hop when she was an teen. While in college, she focused on her studies, and then majored both in women's study and journalism. In a short period of time, in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also available. The focus on music until the time she graduated. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success through the Internet before settling on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. It also included viral hits, such as body positive Queef & winking home tour NYC BitcheUSD. This latter song was directly connected to Awkwafina's NYC, a 2015 travel guide. She decided to pursue acting careers after completing her first two ventures as a musician and author. In addition to early shows like Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films such as Neighbors as well as Storks. She had a breakthrough role in 2018 with a few notable films like Dude Ocean's Eight as well as Crazy Rich Asians. The EP came out in June.
